NY League of Conservation Voters Endorses Senator Lea Webb for Reelection to NY State Senate

Southern Tier, NY - Today, Senator Lea Webb (D, NY-52) announced that she has been endorsed by the New York League of Conservation Voters, a statewide climate advocacy organization fighting for clean water, clean air, and renewable energy. 


Said Julie Tighe, President, NYLCV, "As a State Senator, Lea Webb has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to environmental protection and fighting climate change. On her way to earning a perfect 100% on our Environmental Scorecard, she has championed policies that promote clean energy and public transportation, green jobs and education programs, food security and zero-waste initiatives, and more. For these reasons and more, we are proud to endorse her for reelection to the State Senate."


“I am proud to receive the endorsement of the New York League of Conservation Voters,” said Senator Lea Webb. “We have just experienced the hottest year on record and our communities are facing extreme weather and record-breaking floods. I will continue to deliver on my promise to advance policies to protect our environment, preserve our precious fresh water, and ensure that our community is prepared to weather the impacts of our changing climate.”


Webb is running for reelection to New York’s 52nd Senate District, which includes Cortland County, Tompkins County, and part of Broome County. Her legislation to ban CO2 fracking in NY recently passed in the Senate and the Assembly and awaits the Governor’s signature. Webb was one of 22 State Senators to earn a perfect score on the NYLCV’s annual State Environmental scorecard.
