ITHACA, N.Y.—State Sen. Lea Webb (D-Binghamton) hosted an event to announce her reelection campaign for a second term in the Senate at Argos Warehouse in Ithaca on Saturday afternoon.
The senator was first elected in November 2022, becoming the first Black woman to hold the seat. At the same time, she became part of the first all women’s group of freshman senators in state history.
She based her first campaign on the promise to bring local issues — ones that mainly affect working families and small businesses — to the forefront of discussion in Albany. Her mission remains the same: “to lead with the well-being of the people, first and foremost.”
“I’m delighted and proud to say I’ve upheld that promise. And I’m excited to continue to do so,” Webb said.
